Toby's Estate Coffee will be launched in Sri Lanka on February 27.

The founder, Toby Smith is the backbone of speciality coffee and direct trade in Australia. After long stints on coffee plantations in Brazil and Guatemala honing his cupping and trading skills, Toby returned to Australia and started roasting beans in his mom's garage in Sydney.

Toby is a roaster, barista, and coffee artisan who shares his passion and knowledge with coffee lovers through his roasteries and cafes in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane, Singapore, Brooklyn (New York) and now in Colombo.

The coffee will be sourced direct from the farm and roasted achieve quality and freshness.

Toby's Estate will provide customers with a range of speciality coffees including estate origins and delicious flavoured coffees, and a complete menu of espresso-based beverages such as lattes, cappuccinos, cocoas and gourmet teas.

"Its freshly brewed coffees, such as café latte, are created to meet the highest standards. Toby's is also proud of its signature blends and its fresh line of blended beverages. Toby's Estate ensures that every cup or glass it serves is 'a good cup'. Toby's Coffee serves espresso beverages that cater to a lifestyle market with discriminating taste," a spokesman for the company said. Toby Smith, Alvaro Sanchez and Andrew Lowe will be present in Colombo for the launch of Toby's Estate Coffee and find potential investment opportunities.

Brads Foods will manage 'Toby's Estate' in Mount Lavinia. "It possesses a cosy atmosphere where one could taste quality coffee, tea or chocolate or even surf the internet while doing so as its equipped with wi-fi," the spokesman said.

The local Directors said that Toby's Estate had decided to enter Sri Lanka after identifying a growing niche market for quality coffee and the ideal ambience to unwind and relax.
