Arrangements for Deyata Kirula in full swing

Arrangements in connection with with the Deyata Kirula 2013 National
Development Exhibition are in progress in the Ampara district.
The exhibition will be held at the Ampara Hardy Technical Institute
and the surrounding area covering 273 acres from March 23. All
arrangements are being made by the Deyata Kirula Secretariat under the
guidance of Minister of Telecommunication and Information Technology,
Ranjith Siyambalapitiya.
The development projects relating to Deyata Kirula - 2013 in Ampara
were delayed due to heavy rains, floods, and adverse weather conditions,
but now they are in progress. Work in connection with the exhibition
have also commenced and are in progress.
New building constructions, rehabilitation of old buildings,
construction of carpet and concrete roads, rehabilitation of minor
irrigation tanks and extension of electricity and telephone connections
are under way.
Important roads in the town are being widened and carpeted. The main
exhibition will be held at the Hardy Technical Institute, where several
buildings are coming up.
The exhibition paves the way for a series of development activities
in the four districts, where infrastructure facilities are being
upgraded, while generating employment opportunities. Of the allocation,
Rs 45,375 million has been earmarked for the development of identified
development projects, including road development activities.
