Vandort makes career best 247 not out

Ragama Cricket Club's Michael Vandort scored his career best and best First Class innings in the current domestic season as Ragama CC made 456/5 against Air Force Sports Club in a Premier League match at Riffle Green, Colombo yesterday.

The 33-year-old batted throughout the day scoring 247 with 11 sixes and 23 fours in 312 balls. Vandort, who has played 20 Test for Sri Lanka with a good average of 37, forged a 179-run partnership for the fifth wicket with Milinda Siriwardena, who got out for 90. Siriwardena cracked four sixes and seven fours in his 122-ball knock.

SL Air Force SC: 355 all out in 74.1 overs (Raju Gayashan 95, Sajith Kelumpriya 81, Rajitha Ratnayake 52, Achira Eranga 48, Malinga Bandara 6/107, Nilanka Premaratne 2/69).

Tharindu takes fourth five wicket haul

NCC off spinner Tharindu Kaushal picked another five wicket haul against Sri Lanka Ports Authority Cricket Club in their premier match worked off at Colts yesterday.

The 19-year-old right armer, the leading wicket taker with 29 scalps in the current First Class season, took five for 30 as Sri Lanka Ports Authority fell for 120.

NCC declared at 178 for 9 in their second innings setting 346-run target. At stumps Ports were no loss for 3 off Kaushal.
