Sampath Bank selected 'Best Bank of Sri Lanka 2013'

Sampath Bank received the 'Best Bank of Sri Lanka 2013' award at the Euromoney - Awards for Excellence 2013 award ceremony in Hong Kong.

The award was received by Sampath Bank Chairman Dhammika Perera, Managing Director Aravinda Perera and Group Chief Financial Officer Ranjith Samaranayake.

Excerpts of an interview with Managing Director, Sampath Bank, Aravinda Perera regarding the award:

Euromoney is one of the reputed global financial magazines which conducts competitions annually and selects the best performing banks in each country. Euromoney's selections have been widely accepted. Winning this award was a great achievement for the bank as it had to compete with formidable competitors. The evaluation was based on selected performance criteria and other details. The requested information was quantitative and qualitative in nature. In addition secondary data such as annual reports, rating reports and evaluations made by other research agencies may have been considered.
