NCE Export Awards 2012:
NDB sponsors sector-wise awards
The National Development Bank (NDB) will sponsor the 'Most
Outstanding Exporter - Sector Wise Awards' category at the 21st NCE
Exports Awards 2012 hosted by the National Chamber of Exporters (NCE) on
September 20.

This category of awards recognises the outstanding achievements of
local exporters across several key sectors such as agriculture, tea,
manufacturing, garments, services, gems and jewellery.
Vice President and Head of Corporate Banking of NDB, Buwaneka Perera
said, "Exports are the main foreign exchange earners for the country and
present many prospects for growth and diversification.
Therefore, giving exports due recognition and priority while
maximising opportunities in the international market place is a task of
national importance."
"This sponsorship is a long standing commitment of NDB to the NCE
Exports Awards and the Bank is pleased to be a part of this national
endeavour," he said.
"Our sponsorship of the 'Most Outstanding Exporter' award category at
the National Chamber of Exporters Annual Awards Ceremony this year, is a
reiteration of our commitment in recognising and rewarding the efforts
of individuals in different sectors for their efforts in taking the
'made in Sri Lanka story' to overseas markets," Perera said.
"The export sector continues to face the effects of the global
economic crisis. This calls for aggressive action in seizing immediate
opportunities in international markets to stay ahead of competition.
