UPFA supporter injured in gunfire

A supporter of the Central Province UPFA candidate Jagath Chandraratne sustained injuries when he was allegedly shot by an unknown gunman early yesterday morning.

The victim, Harsha was reportedly shot in the leg outside the candidate's house in Peradeniya around 4.00 am, police said.

He was admitted to the Kandy General Hospital and his condition is not serious.

Peradeniya Police are conducting investigations. No suspects had been apprehended at the time this edition went to press.
