HFBV, Kurunegala ‘Milo’ netball champs

Holy Family Balika Vidyalaya, Kurunegala which has an impressive record in schools netball stamped their class by winning the ‘Milo’ Schools Netball Championship for the sixth consecutive year in the recently concluded tournament.They were champions in the Under 14 and 16 tournaments and were runners-up in the Under 18 tournament.

The players commitment, dedication and the support of the parents were the main reason for their success. The Familians haven’t a play ground of their own to practise, by sheer determination by the lasses who practise at the Kurunegala, Udawalpola Municipal grounds from Monday to Friday have put them in the right frame to their wins.

The victorious team was coached by Mrs. Amalka Wannitileka with the technical assistance coming from Ananda Wannitileka. The principal of the school Rev. Sister Tricilda Fernando and the staff was a source of inspiration for the team.
