
Western deep-low-mats keen on polls
Some Western deep-low-mats have shown an extraordinary interest in
the polls in the North. Among them were the heads of Colombo-based
missions of No-Way and Can-ah-Dah. They spent several days in the North,
showing an unusual interest which they had not shown even at general
elections in their home countries.
Green Reformists to resume battle
The Green Reformists will resume their call for a leadership change
from next week after the Elephant Party's dismal performance at
yesterday's PC polls. Even prior to the elections, Saa-jeet, the
Love-Slave met his confidants in Kandy last week to discuss their next
move.
Ra-Blue allowed after One Shot's ejection
The authorities have given the green light to Ra-Blue's request to
use the Airport Expressway, which is yet to be opened, to attend a
funeral. But his confidant One Shot has been greatly perturbed by the
request. It was only a few days ago that the celluloid hero turned
politician was ejected from the Expressway for using it before its
opening.
Bell party in a crisis
The severe internal power struggle in the Bell Pary had resulted in
some key politburo members keeping out of the party's PC election
campaign in Wayamba and Central. Some party seniors did not join Soo-me,
the One-saw on the same stage. More details would come to light after
