'Mega Tourism Caravan' in Ukraine
Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB) and the Sri Lankan Embassy
in the Russian Federation has launched a tourism promotion campaign in
the Ukraine. It will end on October 14.
This is the fourth phase of the promotional campaign, 'Mega Tourism
Caravan', launched in August in the Republic of Belarus, as part of Sri
Lanka tourism promotion in CIS countries, SLTPB sources said.
The fourth phase of the campaign was launched from Kharkov and will
make its journey through four other major cities, Donetsk
Dnepropetrovsk, Odessa and Kiev, covering a distance of almost 2,000
kilometres on wheels.
The promotional campaign of almost two weeks, also aims at
popularising Sri Lanka in Ukraine, strengthening cultural and business
cooperation, enhancement of mutual understanding between the two
countries.
At each city, there would be promotional events at popular shopping
malls.
These events will include Ayurveda spa treatment, demonstrations on
the making traditional handicrafts, cultural shows, workshops for tour
operators, press conferences and photo exhibitions.Visitors will be
served Ceylon Tea. In the city of Ukraine and Donetsk there would be a
cultural show along with a reception for leading travel and tour
operators, media personnel, tea industrialists and the Sri Lankan
diaspora.
The promotional events held under the theme 'Days of Sri Lanka in
Ukraine' will be held from October 23-25 would offer a unique
opportunity to the public and tour operators of Ukraine to learn about
the culture, scenic beauty, beaches, traditional dancing, flora and
fauna and festivals of the 'Pearl of the Indian Ocean'. Other major
participants are Siddhalepa, Laksala and Sri Lankan Airlines. |
