Singapore company to set up dialysis hospital in Sri Lanka

The Board of Investment of Sri Lanka signed an agreement with
Singapore Dialysis Medical Group (Pvt) Limited, to develop and operate a
specialised hospital for kidney dialysis.
The hospital will be built in Kohuwala with an estimated investment
value of US$ 1.5 million and create employment opportunities for 30
local and seven foreign staff.
The Certification of Registration was formally presented by Minister
of Investment Promotion, Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena to Manager - Sri
Lanka Operations, Arden Clements and Operations Manager (Sri Lanka) of
Singapore Dialysis Medical Group (Pvt) Ltd, Prasad Denipitiya.
"The Singapore Dialysis Medical Group Hospital will provide a modern
health care service and maintain high standards in Sri Lanka for
dialysis patients.
The hospital will employ experienced international and local
professionals," a hospital spokesman said. The hospital will treat
Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), which damages the kidneys. The centre will
provide haemodialysis, one of two forms of dialysis and commonly known
as blood dialysis. All pathology testing and medication management will
be conducted by the Hospital in consultation with renal specialists and
will be complimented by counselling patients and their families. |
