Prima Group to invest Rs. 500 m to boost capacity
The Prima Group will invest over Rs. 500 million this year to upgrade
capacity, expand product range and enhance quality, said Group General
Manager, Prima Group, Sri Lanka, Tan Beng Chuan at the launch two
products last week.
Chuan said that the Group's business grew last year despite many
challenges and added that the company is optimistic of a better year.
“We had a successful year in 2013 with growth in demand for products. We
hope to sustain the grow momentum with novel and quality products this
year,” Chuan said.
Prima Ceylon has been in the milling of wheat flour and the bakery
sector in Sri Lanka for around 20 years. The parent company is in
Singapore.
Chuan said that the company has provided over 1,000 jobs and added
that it provides training to bakers and hoteliers. Providing training is
an integral part of our support and advisory service, he said. The
company provides customer services that include the transfer of baking
skills, awareness of product benefits, baking applications and their
benefits.
“Our operations in the North and the East has grown with the demand
for products. We will invest in expanding business in the regions,” he
said.
Expanding the range of products Prima Sunrise launched the flat
bread, a nutritional and convenient food. Prima Group Assistant Brand
Manager Anurada Hewage said that the global demand for flat bread as a
convenient and nutritional food has grown. |
