Abans launches curved TV
Abans, sole agents in Sri Lanka for LG products from Korea, recently
launched the world's first 55-inch LG OLED curved TV, which offers
exceptional picture quality.
Featuring a gently curved screen, the 4.3mm thin LG curved OLED TV is
a work of art. LG is one of the first companies to commercialise the
innovative curved OLED TV, which was first showcased at CES 2013, and
the flat screen OLED TV.
This new standard in television viewing experience is set to start of
a whole new era in home entertainment. The next-generation display
technology and advanced design of the LG curved OLED TV brings a new era
in home entertainment.
Union Bank opens branch in Ibbagamuwa
Increasing its focus on Small and Medium Enterprises, Union Bank of
Colombo PLC (UBC) opened its 52nd branch in Ibbagamuwa recently.
The new branch was opened by the Ibbagamuwa Pradeshiya Sabha
Chairman, Sumith Udukumbura.
Director and Chief Executive Officer Anil Amarasuriya and Chief
Operating Officer Nilanth de Silva were also present.
French biz delegation visits Lanka
A ten-member French business delegation visited Colombo recently. It
comprised officials of French companies in the field of urban
infrastructure, especially transport.
French companies in India and Singapore were a part of the
delegation. Participating companies included Alstom Transport, Bouygues
Batiment International, Dassault Systemes, DTP Terrassement, Egis
International, Signes-Paysages, Systra, Veolia Transport RATP, Vinci
Concession and Unibridge. The main area of interest for the business
delegation was the modernisation of urban mass transport systems.
Asia 2014 opens on Tuesday
The fifth International Conference and Exhibition on Water Resources
and Hydropower Development in Asia – Asia 2014, to be opened on Tuesday
in Colombo is coordinated by Aitken Spence Conventions and Exhibitions.
Local authorities and several institutions including the Power and
Energy Ministry, Irrigation Department, the Mahaweli Authority, the
Ceylon Electricity Board, the Central Engineering Consultancy Bureau,
the Sri Lanka National Committee on Large Dams and the Sri Lanka
Convention Bureau have extended support to hold the conference.
