
Army Seva Vanitha to hold Sannaliyane
A mega musical fiesta, Sannaliyane organised by the Sri Lanka Army
Seva Vanitha Unit will be held at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium on
March 28 to collect funds for ‘Brave Hearts’ fund raiser project.
It is through this project funds are allocated for the construction
of ‘Abhimansala’ wellness resorts built to give a lifetime care for
fully dependent war heroes.
‘Sannaliyane’ will be a tribute to the music maestro Pandith W.D.
Amaradeva and ever green hits of the Sinhala music will be sung by
veteran vocalists including Visharada Victor Rathnayake, Sangeeth Nipun
Sanath Nandasiri, Sunil Edirisinghe, Nanda Malini, Edward Jayakody,
Luxman Wijesekara, Amarasiri Pieris. Choreography is by Channa
Wijewardane. The script is by Bandara Eheliyagoda. One hundred Army
musicians will give the musical support to the veteran vocalists under
the directions of Dr. Rohana Weerasinghe.
Tickets will be available at all Cargills Food city outlets.
Colourful bond - A joint exhibition of paintings
Colourful bond, a joint art exhibition by R. Kouwshigan (Sri Lankan
artist and professional art teacher) and his students M. Shanjanaa, S.
Rohiny, R. Varuni, G. Rumjhum, C. Alankritha, R. Meena and G. Anita will
be held at the Lionel Wendt Memorial Art Centre, Guildford Crescent,
Colombo 7 today as well.
The exhibition was opended by Directress/Principal, La Petite Fleur
Montessori House of Children Bernadine Anderson, yesterday at 9.30 am..
The brush works in the exhibition touch all facets of life including
landscapes, portraits, wildlife, spiritualism and human emotions.
