Rukmani Kodagoda Trophy for junior golf

A step in the right direction seems to be taken, in the inauguration of annual Junior Golf Tournament, to foster and bolster the sport of Golf in this country.

The first of which, the Sri Lanka Junior Match-Play Championship, will be played over four days and will comprise of three age groups viz; 15-17 (overall/Gold Division) age groups 11-14 years (Silver Division) and age group 10 years and under (Bronze Division).

The manner of play would be based on qualifying medal round, followed by a match play knock-out format amongst the qualifier. The main event would be open to those under 18 years of age and the winner of the match play would be awarded the Rukmani Kodagoda Challenge Trophy, which will become an annual event in the cause of golf. This competition will be held from the 7th to 10th April at the Royal Colombo Golf Club (Course) and organised by the Sri Lanka Golf Union (SLGU).
