Amăna Takaful honours top performers
Amăna Takaful recently held its annual awards under the theme 'Think
Big' to honour the company's top performers who had excelled in sales
and operations in 2013.
Amăna Takaful's Board of Directors, staff and their families were
also present.

The most coveted award of the day, the 'Champion of Champions' was
presented to Manager, Business Development of the Head Office, Shamail
Annam for being selected as the Best Sales person of the Year.
Annam was acknowledged not only for his persevering sales efforts and
successes, but also for his embodiment of the Takaful tenets of teamwork
and discipline.
Annam said, "This is a great milestone in my life, but the
destination is far away. Success comes from how determined and honest we
are.
"We have to forego certain privileges and recognitions in the short
run, but in the long run we will be recognised."

supporting me and helping me grow," he said.
The Life Centre was awarded 'Best Branch' in the Family Takaful
category and was also recognised for being the highest contributor of
new business.
In the General Business segment, the Pettah Branch was presented with
three awards for 'Best Product Mix', 'Highest Direct Business' and the
'Highest number of Corporate Clients'.
While, the Akurana Branch bagged the award for 'Highest Growth', the
'Best Overall Performance' award was presented to the Puttlam Branch.
The Puttalam branch demonstrated great team work and leadership and was
acknowledged for exceeding targets.
The Western region won the 'Overall Best Region' award in the General
Business segment for the third consecutive year due to the exemplary
performance of branches in the region.
The region consists of three branches that closely compete and bring
out the best in each other and the region. In 2013, they recorded the
highest contribution for any region.
The Western region also won awards for 'Best Overall Performance',
'Highest Leasing Business', 'Highest Direct Business', 'Highest
Corporate Clients', 'Highest Growth' and 'Best Product Mix'.
The CEO's Award was presented to outstanding operational staff, a
recognition that acknowledges that frontline and back office have to
work together to bring out the best to serve customers. Staff who have
served for over 10 years in the company, were presented '10 Year Service
Awards' in recognition of their service.
Amăna Takaful has grown steadily over the years despite the
challenging economic and financial climate that affected the insurance
industry at large.
"The composite insurer, maintained growth above industry levels due
to the commitment of its employees and a more extensive product
offerings," a company spokesman said.
In 2013, Amăna Takaful recorded a Post Tax Profit of Rs. 117 million,
an eight-fold increase over 2012. Amăna Takaful's growth has also
stemmed from a greater acceptance of the Takaful way of insurance by all
Sri Lankans, which brings people together and facilitates a system of
mutuality and sharing.
With branches at 24 strategic locations islandwide, Amăna Takaful has
been successful in its journey of 15 years in setting up a strong
position for the concept of Takaful amidst stiff competition from other
conventional industry players.
