The Inter- School Shakespeare Drama Competition 2014

The Inter School Shakespeare Drama Competition 2014 jointly organised by the Colombo YMCA and the Rotary Club of Colombo North will be held on the following dates:Semi Finals: September 9, 10 and 11 at the Lionel Wendt Theatre.Finals: September 19 and 20 at the Bishop’s College auditorium.

The excerpts should be selected from the under-mentioned plays:

All’s Well that ends Well, Comedy of Errors, Coriolanus, Henry V1, Part 11, Macbeth, Merry Wives of Windsor, Richard 111 and Timon of Athens.

The closing date for entries will be July 25.

Mother/Son at Goethe Hall

Jeffrey Solomon's one-man drama Mother/Son will be staged at the Goethe Hall, Colombo 7 on June 1 at 6 p.m.

The play captivates the battle of a Jewish mother and son over the son's sexuality.

Jeffrey Solomon has performed his award-winning solo plays Mother/Son and Santa Claus is Coming Out internationally. His stories have been featured on national public radio in the US and at the MOTH (a professional storytelling organisation) where he won the Grand Slam Story telling Championship.

Sokari at Sudasuna Hall

Jaliya Rajapaksha's Sokari will be staged at the Sudasuna Hall, Chilaw on May 23 at 8.15 a.m. and 10.45 a.m.

 Readings in Jaffna

Readings by some of the Sri Lanka's finest English authors will take place at the University of Jaffna auditorium on June 6 at 3 p.m.
