Intellectual discourse with Muslims, a sine qua non - Minister Wimal Weerawansa

This clash was instigated aiming at a regime change and a catastrophe which goes beyond that. We should defeat the extremist groups within the Muslim society with an intellectual approach without paving the way for bloodshed as expected by the West and certain enemies in our country. If people are dragged towards bloodshed, it will benefit the reactionary forces.

NGO goons jump the gun

The NGOs and their Western godfathers need not push the panic button as the Government has only reminded the local NGOs on the pledge they had given at the time of registration and called on them to abide by the law of the land. That is nothing unusual. It wasn’t an attempt at restrain NGO's activities but only a general reminder to act according to their mandate.
