Janashakthi pays claim to Centara Resorts, Maldives

Janashakthi paid a claim worth approximately US$ 0.9 million to a luxury resort in the Maldives when one of its buildings was gutted by fire recently.

Centara Hotels and Resorts, a Thai-based chain also has hotels in Bali, Sri Lanka, Vietnam and Mauritius.

A fire beginning in the General Manager's quarters saw the entire administrative building being burnt to the ground, with extensive damages amounting to nearly US $ 1 million. Centara Hotels was covered under Janashakthi's Fire All Risk policy and a team promptly visited the site.

"A team from Janashakthi Insurance came here with a Loss Adjustor within a few days to have a discussion with the Centara staff. We are happy with Janashakthi's prompt service. We are considering getting more comprehensive coverage for our other businesses as well," said Corporate Controller of Administration, Kris Tossanoot.

"In the world of business, anything can happen. Our non-life products are comprehensive and can provide for every eventuality from fire to theft.
