It's going too far

I'm sure you've all seen your share of the ice bucket challenge
videos, but is it's going too far?
A grandfather in the US posted his ice bucket challenge on Facebook,
but got a lot of negative responses due to the fact that he had forced
his 10-month-old granddaughter to participate in the event.
The ice bucket challenge was created to raise money for those
suffering from ALS, also known as motor neuron disease, which causes
progressive weakness of the muscles until sufferers can no longer move
by themselves and have difficulty swallowing, speaking and breathing.
People all around the world have taken part in the challenge to raise
awareness of the disease and have donated money to help find a cure.
However, many believe this man has taken it too far, by involving an
infant who does not understand the meaning of the challenge and has no
say in her participation. The little girl's father was horrified when he
saw the video online and was angry and upset, saying that it is a form
of child abuse.
While the grandfather was prepared for the icy water and closed his
eyes and mouth, the little girl was taken totally by surprise with the
huge weight of freezing water tipped onto her head.

Home needed for world's rarest bird
The Madagascar pochard is the world's rarest bird. Experts believe
there are only about 80 living at the moment and they believe the bird
needs a new home to survive.
A recent study in the journal Bird Conservation International that
revealed that 96 percent of the chicks die after a couple of weeks
because they can't get enough food.
The wetland where the ducks live is too deep for young ducklings to
dive for food. The problem seems to be that the birds cannot dive to the
bottom of the lake where they live to get food because it is too deep.
Scientists are now on the look out for a new site so they can save
the Madagascar pochard.
