Teacher salary anomalies rectified

"All teachers and principals of government schools will have solutions to their problems with regard to the promotions and salary increments by December 31.

"I have already instructed the Minister of Education over this matter. 220,000 teachers would benefit with this new directive," said President Mahinda Rajapaksa at a meeting after opening a Mahindodaya Technological Laboratory at Humbuluwa MV in Alawwa in the Kurunegala District recently.

The President said that his government had taken steps to ensure rights of teachers as they are dedicated to create a proud and patriotic future generation in Sri Lanka.

Senior Minister S.B. Nawinna, Minister Anura Priyadarshana Yapa, Johnston Fernando, Salinda Dissanayake and

Jayaratne Herath and NWP - Chief Minister Dayasiri Jayasekara were present at the opening ceremony of the Mahindodaya Technological Laboratory at Humbuluwa MV in Alawwa.
