Eastern University's academic program

The academic program for the second year students of the Faculties of Agriculture, Commerce and Management will commence on October 10.

'Handful of Tranquillity' on Oct 25

'Handful of Tranquillity', the commemoration of Elders' Day by the Ceylon Bible Society will be held on Saturday, October 25 from 9 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. at St. Mark's Church, Dandugama.


Triplets' mother needs help

Mrs. B.A. Renuka Premalatha of 373, Kelegama, Napawala, Avissawella, a mother of one child, gave birth to triplets recently. The babies were discharged from the hospital after being kept for one month in the Premature Baby Unit due to their underweight. Their mother who is in a critical condition remains immobilised at home.

As the parents find it extremely difficult to feed the babies and bring them up due to needy circumstances, they appeal for public assistance.

UN Day at Bishop's today

The United Nations Association with the Ministry of External Affairs and the United Nations in Sri Lanka has organised a National Observance of the 69th United Nations Day today, 3.00 p.m. at the Bishop's College auditorium, Colombo. Minister of External Affairs Prof. G.L. Peiris will be the chief guest and the coordinator of the United Nations in Sri Lanka Subinay Nandi will be the guest of honour.


Gamini Dissanayake's death anniversary

The 20th death anniversary of the late Gamini Dissanayake will be held at the site of the statue at Nelum Pokuna Mawatha, Colombo 7 on October 22 at 9.30 a.m.

School bags with books and school equipment, will be distributed among daham pasal students.
