Taking a bird for a walk

Going for a walk will reduce your cholesterol level, exercise your limbs and also ease your stress, so the doctors prescribe. If you walk with a dog such as a Labrador or Alsatian. in addition to the exercise your affluence too will be shown and recognised. But this photograph from the Internet shows a completely different experience. The peculiarity of the scene is not lost on other pedestrians, who watch in amazement as the elderly gentleman and his small companion amble along.

His feathered friend even stops with his owner at a crossing to wait for the lights to change. At one point a woman even stops the man to take a picture.

If you are lying, Kokoro Scanner will catch you

It is a machine similar to a polygraph. Just like the polygraph it will detect whether you are telling the truth or not. The Kokoro Scanner (Heart Scanner) is a high-tech Japanese invention that can spice up classic party games such as 'Truth or Dare'. It is a lie detecting device that is worn on the forehead and changes colour to indicate the truthfulness of a person's responses.Created by Tokyo-based toy company 'Takara Tomy', this machine monitors the pulse using infrared rays. So when you make a person wear it, it first monitors their heart rate to establish a baseline. Then, you ask them a question, the wearer responds, and the device monitors the heart rate once more to compare it with the baseline. It then flashes green if the person's pulse is normal indicating that they're telling the truth, yellow if they might be lying, and red if they are lying for sure. Because the light is attached to the person's forehead, they won't be able to tell what colour is flashing while they're being interrogated with all sorts of embarrassing questions.

He turns himself into female celebrities

Whom would you like to see in front of you? Beyonce, Julia Roberts, Britney Spears, or any other celebrity from the world of films or modelling?

He will bring her to you by transforming himself into that particular celebrity.

Thirty-one-year-old actor and TV host Paolo Ballesteros specialises in transforming himself into female celebrities from around the world. In this case there's no Photoshop involved; Paolo uses only wigs, makeup, and coloured contact lenses to complete the stunning transformations.

Paolo is the host of a popular TV show in the Philippines called Eat Bulaga.

His transformations actually started as a segment on the show Super Sereyna, where he would surprise audiences with his mind blowing makeup skills.

Paolo revealed that he is self-taught - he learned to apply makeup by watching YouTube tutorials, and he does it all by himself.

To completely change one's appearance is no mean feat, and it takes him hours of painstaking effort to recreate these popular female icons. Although he can do almost any celebrity, his favourites are Angelina Jolie and Mariah Carey. "Angelina is very easy to do," he said.

"I put big lips and I look like her already."

Monstrous pumpkin

If Cinderella knew that giant pumpkins could be grown she wouldn't have waited till her fairy godmother created the famous horse-driven carriage out of a pumpkin. Although this relates to a fairy tale now it has been proved by British twins - Ian and Stuart Paton from Pennington, Hampshire that could grow giant pumpkins.

They were able to create a monstrous pumpkin weighing 1.884 pounds. It is the second time they could beat the UK record.

The brothers, 53, previously held the record until it was beaten by a pumpkin last year that weighed 1,520 pounds.

But moments before they smashed the British record, farmer Mark Baggs from Dorset thought he had set it himself with a massive 1,582 pounds.

However, the Patons were last up at an annual weigh-in of the UK's biggest pumpkin. Elite grower Ian said: "It's absolutely enormous.

"Mark is a great friend of ours - we have known him for over 10 years - and it was actually him who took our British record last year.

"It's brilliant to take another step closer to the world record."

The record for the world's biggest pumpkin is a whopping 2,032 pounds and the brothers are confident they can top it one day.

The pair placed the pumpkin, which they planted in April, on the back of their truck and transported it to the annual competition at the Royal Victoria Country Park in Netley, Hants. Ian added: "The secret behind it is that we feed them well, if you want to grow anything you've got to feed it right." The twins kept their record-breaker at a garden and plant nursery, which they own in Pennington. And amazingly, they smashed the record with their enormous 4.5ft tall pumpkin, which has a circumference of 17ft and 4in.

Creepy robot

It is a sidewinder rattlesnake? It can move sideways and climb sandy hills.

In a study published in Science, researchers report sidewinders improve their ability to traverse sandy slopes by increasing the amount of their body in contact with the granular surfaces.

But in this instance the creepy creature you see here is only a robot and don't worry it won't bite you. It wasn't simply created to generate fear though. It was actually made to improve the efficiency of robots and expand our knowledge of the biology of snakes. It mimics the movements of a sidewinder rattlesnake, which is able to climb sandy hills.

As part of the study, the principles used by the sidewinders to gracefully climb sand dunes were tested using a modular snake robot developed at Carnegie Mellon University. Before the study, the snake robot could use one component of side-winding motion to move across level ground, but was unable to climb the inclined sand track the way the real snakes could readily ascend. In a real-world application an archaeological mission in Red Sea caves sandy inclines were especially challenging to the robot.
