LTTE sympathizer contests Ontario Mayoral post
An LTTE sympathiser, one of the Canadian members
of the Transnational Government of Tamil Eelam (TGTE), an
organisation proscribed by Sri Lanka under the UN resolution 1373 is
running for the Mayoral post for the City of Ajax in Ontario. The
elections will be held next week.

President Mahinda Rajapaksa condemned last
week's shooting incident in Canada and said all should unite to
fight this menace. The President, in his Twitter account, said that
it is very disturbing to see increasing terrorists acts in many
countries, now even Canada. He stressed the importance of uniting as

Navy Commander on five-day visit to India
Navy Commander Vice Admiral Jayantha Perera left
the country on a five-day official visit to India yesterday on an
invitation extended by Indian Navy Chief Admiral Robin Dhowan, Navy
media spokesman Commander Kosala Warnakulasuriya told the Sunday
