La Trobe University offers schols
The La Trobe University of Australia will offer scholarships worth AU
$ 300,000 to business students in Sri Lanka to further enhance relations
between the two countries. The Head of La Trobe Business School and a
Professor of Accounting at La Trobe University, Prof. Paul Mather said,
"The university's constant endeavour was to engage with key countries of
the region and to create enhanced opportunities for students has brought
us to Sri Lanka this year.""We have come to Sri Lanka many times in the
past and our new offerings would help students from Sri Lanka get the
maximum from the expertise within La Trobe Business School," he said.
The university has a long history of training Sri Lankans and it is a
good opportunity for those interested in studying in Australia.
It has 20,000 students out of which 8,500 are foreigners. The Sri
Lankan student population is around 150, he said.
"We need to do something concrete in this country and engage
meaningfully. This is why we are offering scholarships to business
students," Prof. Mather said.
