Housing project to felicitate war heroes

The Ministry of Defence and Urban Development has launched a project to help war hero families to complete the construction of their houses, said Education Director of Kurunegala W.M. Balasuriya at a meeting of retired security personnel held at Kurunegala recently.

He said that the project was launched on a concept by Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa as a tribute to the war heroes. This will help around 2,000 families to complete their houses.

This project financed from state funds will be carried out under the supervision of the security forces.

The government set apart about Rs. 1000 million out of the budgeted funds. He said that this program is implemented as per a concept of the Secretary, Gotabaya Rajapaksa to the Ministry of Defence and Urban Development.
