Vimukthi shines for Christ King Pannipitiya

Christ King College, Pannipitiya won three matches on first innings in their under 13 Inter-School division 3 tournament first round 2014.

They became group champions and at the moment playing in the second round. Christ King beat Dharmapala College, Pannipitiya, St. Peter's College, Bambalapitiya and Hermann Gmeiner College, Piliyandala and came close to register an out right victory against Homagama Maha Vidyalaya.

During the first round matches bowlers dominated for Christ King team. Promising all rounder and captain Vimukthi Prabashana was the leading wicket taker with 24 wkts. Vimukthi captured 7 for 28 against Hermann Gmeiner College and 7 for 21 against Homagama Maha Vidyalaya. Another all-rounder Kaveesh took 6 for 26 against Dharmapala College, Pannipitiya.

The highest individual score came from Lakshitha Dilshan who scored 96 against Homagama Maha Vidyalaya. Christ King College under 13 team is coached by former cricketer Jayantha Weerasinghe.
