YMF career guidance program
The Young Members Forum (YMF) of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce (CCC),
as a part of its efforts to help prepare local university students for
the job market, recently conducted a career guidance program at the
Rajarata University.
Nearly 250 undergraduates of the Rajarata University were present.
The program gave them an understanding of the local job market,
preparing a professional resume and covering letter and on how to face
an interview with confidence.
The half-day program also gave the students an understanding of the
services offered by the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce and the role it
played in helping the private sector.
The program was held with the support of the Career Guidance Unit of
the Rajarata University.
"This program has helped students to gain practical knowledge on the
current job market and in personal grooming," said Senior Lecturer,
in-charge of the career guidance unit, Rajarata University. Dr. (Mrs)
G.A.S. Ginigaddara, "This initiative, is one of a series of similar
events the YMF will organise this year to nurture and educate the
younger generation and bring forth the next generation of leaders," said
President of the Young Members Forum, Mrs. Gillian Nugara.
