DIMO's reporting methodology recognised
Diesel and Motor Engineering PLC (DIMO) received the Overall Winner
Award at the ACCA Sri Lanka, Sustainability Reporting Awards 2014 at the
Cinnamon Grand recently.
DIMO achieved this accolade competing with over 70 private and public
quoted entities.
The ACCA Sustainability Reporting Award is endorsed by the Ministry
of Environment and the Global Compact Network Ceylon. The award gave due
recognition to DIMO's efforts to present a comprehensive account of the
economic, social and environmental impact that are generated by the
company's activities and the manner in which the company has discharged
its responsibilities in these three domains.
Chairman and Managing Director, DIMO, Ranjith Pandithage said, "This
validates our endeavour to report in as fair and transparent manner as
possible, presenting negative and positive aspects without bias."
"We believe it to be imperative that stakeholders have access to
comprehensive details to facilitate informed opinions and choices. We
are honoured that ACCA has recognised our reporting practices to
measure, monitor and report our actions and its impact on our
stakeholders," he said.
As a business, DIMO operates on the basic premise that its destiny is
in the hands of stakeholders, be it customers, principals, suppliers,
shareholders, employees, or members of society.
DIMO incessantly strives for excellence in every aspect of business
they are involved in by stressing the importance of sustainability in
all operations, a company spokesman said.

transparency in-line with global business and financial practices which
