Hackanix 2015: 'Sas Ninjas' overall winners
Fifteen teams from top universities and ICT institutes from across
the island competed in 'Hackanix 2015', a two-day hackathon organised by
AIESEC of the University of Moratuwa with Microsoft Sri Lanka.

The event held at Trace City, Maradana had the five-member teams from
education institutions such as the Universities of Colombo, Moratuwa and
Ruhuna, SLIIT and Esoft Metro Campus working overnight on projects which
were presented to the panel of judges on the following day.
The challenge was to come up with a solution for a social issue on
the theme 'Educating the Public on...'.
The second runner-up who was awarded a cash prize of Rs. 20,000 was
the team Illusion Boxes of the University of Moratuwa who designed an
innovative application to connect people who sought legal assistance
with the right lawyers.
Team 'Enigma' of the University of Peradeniya was placed first
runner-up for their application to improve study methods, making the
entire experience of learning more fun and novel.
The overall winners of Hackanix 2015 was the second level
undergraduate team, Sas Ninjas of the University of Moratuwa who
clinched it by producing 'Educa' App which can be installed in any
smartphone and can change the way one reads by using augmented reality,
allowing the user a virtual experience. |
