Sathkara for pensioners from HNB
Hatton National Bank (HNB) in partnership with Department of
Pensions, introduce the Sathkara, a product with a host of benefits and
privileges for pensioners.

Sathkara will offer pensioners the convenience of having all their
identification details and data in a secure internationally accepted
payment card issued by Hatton National Bank and the benefit of having
access to a number of benefits which include high interest rates on
savings, insurance cover for hospitalisation, loans for self-employment
projects and discounts from a wide range of partner hospitals and
vendors.
Director General, Department of Pensions, Sunil Hettiarachchi said
that it would benefit a large number of pensioners around the country.
"The cutting-edge digital technology used by this novel product will
certainly improve the quality of life of over 500,000 pensioners in the
country," he said. Managing Director and CEO, HNB, Jonathan Alles said
that this product is an extension of HNB's belief in presenting
customers with the best and the most beneficial financial solutions.
"HNB Sathkara will offer senior citizens who are pensioners the
payment card issued by one of the trusted and stable commercial banks in
Sri Lanka.
They will have a dedicated HNB service counter operational on five
days of the week at the Department of Pensions providing them access to
