Tajima Colombo (Pvt) Ltd introduced a modern industrial sewing machine manufactured by Brother Machinery (Asia) Limited, the 7300 Nexio, to the Sri Lankan market recently.

The machine is a single needle, direct drive lockstitch sewing machine with an integrated electronic feed system and thread cutter directly connected to the stepping motor.

The electronically controlled feeding mechanism extends the machine's range, eliminates noise and puts an end to long initial and residual threads or bird's nest.

The feed process is adjusted for every stitch and stitch length per seam can be programmed between one mm and seven mm and offers new values such as Design Stitch.

A sensor on the presser bar detects the thickness of the material being sewn and automatically provides more power to push the material through, which improves quality when sewing across thick sections such as transverse seams.

The results are a substantial increase in seam quality and significant noise reduction in the factory.

By controlling the sewing speed and feed timing, the NEXIO S-7300A can solve the sewing problems such as needle breakage and seam shrinkage with suitable thread tightening and feeding force.

Besides the electronic feeding control, the thread trimming mechanism reduces the disposition of thread ends, enhancing productivity. The new functions can be used with the Colour LCD touch panel.

Consultant, Business Development, South West Asia region, Brother Machinery (Asia) Limited, A.J. Ifthikar Hussain said, "The new models of Brother 7300 Nexio has one of the industry's largest sewing areas, which makes it much easier to move and position the material. The ease of use and increased efficiency enables the user to finish garments and other items in a shorter time."

Managing Director, Brother Machinery (Asia) Limited, Koichi Naganuma and Director, Industrial Sewing Machines Division, Yasushi Tsusaka said, "We are one of the pioneers in introducing modern and well developed sewing machine technology to Sri Lanka and continue to be one of the market leaders."

"We ensure the industry gets the best in quality and service, as we have identified and understood the importance of operating machines to capacity in a production line, the need for efficiency and maintaining a risk-free operation," they said.

"It is with pride and dedication that we introduced our new line of Nexio industrial sewing machines. The machines have a new housing that will set a design standard in the industry. The new brand name is derived from the words 'Next' and 'Society', combining our vision to drive a new era of change and product development and commitment to forge strong customer relationships," said Naganuma and Tsusaka.
