Career Report Sri Lanka:
More jobs in healthcare sector
For finance and human resource professionals, jobs don't get much
better than this. A recent Everjobs career report showed accounting and
auditing, human resource and administrative job roles to be in high
demand, especially in the rapidly expanding healthcare sector of Sri
Lanka. It also revealed an emerging demand for project management
specialists.
The career report was assembled by monitoring the traffic on
Everjobs.lk during June. In the past month, job listings in the
healthcare sector have increased by several fold, not just for medical
professionals but for finance, human resource and administrative jobs
too. The primary reason for this is the increasing number of clinics and
outpatient care establishments presenting various opportunities for
professionals in the industry.
"It's easy to typecast the people who seek employment in different
sectors, but it's important to remember that there are all kinds of
different occupations in any particular industry," Managing Director,
Everjobs Sri Lanka, Sascha Woelk said.
"Besides the healthcare sector, there's a fair surge in
telecommunication, import and export, financial services and retail
sectors that offer good prospects for finance, human resource and
administrative specialists, regardless of what goods or services they
produce," he added.
"Healthcare will continue to grow faster and provide some of the
best-paying professional jobs in the country," read a testimonial from a
candidate who successfully landed one of the HR roles listed by a
leading outpatient care establishment. It added, "There's a need for
skills development initiatives in the healthcare sector. We also need to
focus on additional support in creating awareness around career
options."
Everjobs, a job portal, operates in Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Myanmar,
Cambodia, Cameroon, Senegal, Ivory Coast and Uganda. Launched in March
2015, Everjobs aims to become the leading job portal in fast growing
economies finding the right match for employers and candidates.
