Learn to draw Drawing and painting a Fox
The
fox is another animal in the village or forest. This intelligent
creature has been around since the stone age. If you can correctly draw
a fox's face, you have solved the hardest part of the job.
Many beginners go wrong here because a fox's skull structure is not
easy to fathom at first glance. The hardest problem you have in drawing
a fox is getting the head to look right.
I have shown in Fig. 1 how to draw a profile of a fox. Notice the
large upright ears. The fox has long pointed snout large nose and flared
cheeks of white hair. Fig. 2 is what you see when a fox looks at you.

Both illustrations show the basic outline and final sketch a head
finished art work in pen and ink. The frontal view of the face clearly
shows the marvellous white fringe round the face.
Study the features carefully and copy it with pen and ink. Many dots
and dashes are used with a fine pointed nib. You will notice in Fig. 3 a
basic outline of a sleeping fox turned into a finished art work in
sketch A.
Before doing a complete finished painting of a fox, you need to do a
pencil sketch or pen and ink drawing. You will have to use many dots and
dashes to draw a fox quite alert as shown here.
Hold your pen lightly so that it just touches the surface of your
paper. A complete finished painting of a fox is shown in Fig. 4. The
brushes used are No. 2, 6 and 1 with 150 gms Kent paper.
