Mahaweli hydropower complex opts for IFS Applications

The Victoria dam |
IFS, the global enterprise applications company, has implemented IFS
Applications at the Mahaweli Hydro Power Complex, an entity under the
Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB).
IFS introduced the applications at the Kotmale and Upper Kotmale
Hydro Power Stations in 2012 and 2013. Following the successful and
rapid implementation of the Applications at the two plants, the solution
has been extended to cover the Board's remaining six hydropower
stations: Victoria, Randenigala, Rantambe, Ukuwela, Bowatenna, and
Nilambe.
By running IFS Applications, the Mahaweli Hydropower Complex will
streamline maintenance, procurement, inventory and document management.
"The successful deployment of IFS Applications marks a milestone for
our organization," said CEB Deputy General Manager Sarath K. Tilakaratna.
"By creating a central information hub, we are now better positioned
to improve our resource planning, which ultimately allows our plants to
operate effectively and efficiently," he said.
General Manager and Director of Consulting, IFS South Asia, Poorna
Bandara said, "It is a proud moment for IFS as we deliver another
successful ERP project. With the cooperation of the project team
assembled by the CEB, we have helped the customer align its operations
with global best practices. The CEB is a mammoth institution and we are
pleased to support its drive for efficiency and effectiveness. We are
committed to being a strong partner to the CEB in the years to come."
