Gunasinghe and Rochelle are chess champions

WATS Gunasinghe (left) and Askey Rochelle (right) emerged champions at the National Amateur Open and Women Chess championship held early this month at Buddhist Ladies College in Colombo 7. Gunasinghe and Thisura Munasinghe tied for the first place in the Open event but the former was the winner on a superior tie break score. Rochelle also tied with Sachintha Kodikara for the first place but the former won on a uperior tie break score.
