First impressions of a country are created at an airport and getting the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) to present a welcoming and efficient image is important, Tourism Minister John Amaratunge said, during an inspection tour of the airport.He also said that the new government was extremely keen to promote tourism and to do so, the country’s international airport must present a particular image. “It is the first window to Sri Lanka,” he said.
 


Media Minister Gayantha Karunathilake visited the Department of Information, following the assumption of office as the minister in charge. Director General of Information Dr. Dharshani Gunathilake, Director Information Wasanthapriya Ramanayake and Director Mohamed Hilmi also joined the minister during the department inspection.
