Trinity outclass Anthonians for second win

Trinity College coasted to their second outright win of the season when they defeated St. Anthony's College Wattala by nine wickets in their Singer trophy inter-school Under-19 match at the Asgiriya stadium yesterday.

A highlight of the match was a deadly spell of bowling by off-spinner Raveen Sayer who destroyed the Anthonians with a match bag of 10 for 97.He had 5 for 31 in the first innings and followed it up with 5 for 66 in the second essay.

Trinity had a victory target of 51 which they reached in just 5.1 overs winning with more than a session to spare.

St Anthony's Wattala 96 (Raveen Sayer 5 for 31) and 122 (Harsha Tharaka 36, Ashan Rukmal 24, Raveen Sayer 5 for 66, D Tillekeratne 2 for 25)

Trinity 161 for 8 declared (Raveen Sayer 38, Hasitha Boyagoda 35, Yasaram Pitawela 31, Nushan Weerasinghe 25, Gihan Sampath 3 for 57, Heshan Prasanna 2 for 25, Ashan Rukmal 2 for 25) and 58 for 1 (Dilan Jayalath 24, Nushan Weerasinghe 27 not out)
