Fun Run flags-off today

Fun Run 2015, an event organised by the Hilton Colombo Residences will be held today for the ninth year running.

The event is open to the public to promote well being and fitness. The event is scheduled to start at 7 a.m. for adults and for the under fifteen age group.

The running distance for the adults will be six kilo metres which will commence from the Colombo Hilton Residences at Staples Street, proceed towards Union Place, Rifle Street and end at the hotel.

For the under fifteen age group, the three kilometer route will turn off from Malay Street to the Slave Island Police Station through Kumaran Ratnam Mawatha and end back at the hotel via Union Place.

Also included is a Men's and Women's Open running event of six kilo metres and another for boys and girls under fifteen for a three kilo metre run.

Speaking about the event the hotel's General Manager Karim Schadlou said: "It will be an exciting event giving an opportunity for children and adults to compete and have fun at the same time".

The winners will be entitled to prizes of Rs.50,000, 25,000 and 10,000.
