Puttalam and Kurunegala win volleyball titles

Puttalam District emerged the Men's champions and Kurunegala District the Women's winner at the Volleyball tournament of the 27th National Youth Games conducted by the National Youth Services Council at the Rajasinghe Central College ground Ruwanwella.

A total of fifty teams took part in this tournament and Puttalam District beat Hambantota District 2-0 while Kegalle District beat Gampaha District 2-0 in the semi finals.

The Puttalam District team beat Kegalle District 3-1 in the final.

Kurunegala District beat Colombo District 2-0 and Puttalam District beat Gampaha District 2-0 in the semi finals of the women's tournament.

Kurunegala beat Puttalam 3-1 in the final.
