Not so Ezy as Mike Young's car topples

Cusco Ezy Racing's Mike Young and co-driver Malcolm Read who clocked
2:04.59 were placed fourth on day one of the FIA - Asia Pacific Rally
Championship here in Longyou, China yesterday.
Young was on number two and three spots in the special stages from
one to five. However, in the fifth stage his car toppled on a hill while
driving on a gravel track. The accident affected Young's overall ranking
on the first day.
Commenting on the situation Young said that there was a problem in
the power steering of his vehicle and that may have been the reason for
the mishap.
He said he couldn't understand what was happening but that there were
possible chances of increasing the points and ranking.
Team MRF's Swedish Driver Pontus Tidemand and his co-driver Emil
Axelsson were the overall leaders in the Standings with a timing of
1:28.35 minutes.
Richard Mason and Sara Mason of Bem Wan Yu rally team who were
contested in a Mitsubishi Lancer came second with a timing of 1:34.19.
Hiroshi Takeyama and Hideki Takeyabu from Immens Motorsport who
clocked 1:37.14 were placed according to the overall timings.
The remaining stages of the China Rally will take place today. |
