MAS Active grab MCA double

A fine spell of spin bowling by Sachit Pathirana (5 for 23) and an useful unbeaten 32 by Angelo Perera helped MAS Active Trading to beat Commercial Credit and Finance by one wicket to clinch a double in the Singer MCA Premier League final played at the MCA grounds yesterday.

They began around 2.30pm due to a wet surface and were restricted to 22 overs per side.

MAS Active Trading won the toss, elected to field and Upul Tharanga and Kusal Mendis gave Commercial Credit and Finance a reasonable start putting on 50 in 28 deliveries.

Sri Lanka's newest Test cap Kusal Mendis struck a rapid 39 off 28 deliveries with two fours and three sixes before he was run out.
