Celebrating Stanley J. Tambiah's work
A ceremony to celebrate the work of Stanley J. Tambiah will be held
on Monday, November 30 at 4.00 p.m. at the ICES Auditorium, Kynsey
Terrace, Colombo.
The speakers will be John D. Rogers, Historian and Director of the
American Institute for Sri Lankan Studies, Gananath Obeysekere,
Professor Emeritus of Anthropology, Princeton University and Sarath
Amunugama, Minister of Special Assignments. The program will be
moderated by Tissa Jayatilaka, Executive Director, US-Sri Lanka
Fulbright Commission.
Stanley Tambiah was the Esther and Sidney Rabb Professor of Social
Anthropology Emeritus, and a world-renowned scholar and an author of 10
books and countless articles. |
