CSE issues RFI to set up CCP

The CSE issued a Request for Information (RFI) inviting potential suppliers to present information on the supply, implementation and support for a Central Counter Party (CCP) institution.

Engaging potential suppliers and offering the opportunity for a long-term partnership is a key step to seek suppliers with international expertise in carrying out similar projects. The setting up of an Institution to act as a Central Counter Party for all secondary market transactions is a key initiative in its strategy to grow into a world-class stock exchange.Central Counter Parties are the globally accepted mechanism for minimising settlement risk and use a Delivery Vs Payment (DVP) settlement environment where securities and funds are exchanged simultaneously.


Record price for Western High Grown tea

The exceptional weather experienced on the Western slopes of the Central Hills after many years has helped produce an exciting range of seasonal quality teas this year. In the past few years, the Western quality season could not fetch good prices due to irregular weather.

Bearwell Estate, Talawakelle, achieved a record price of Rs. 780 per kg for an Invoice of BOPF, breaking the previous record of Rs. 700 in 2013. The record price was paid by Tea-Link Colombo (Pvt) Ltd for an European customer.

Valentine’s Day at The Ocean Colombo

The Ocean Colombo, at Melbourne Avenue, Bambalapitiya will celebrate Valentine’s Day today.

Wine and champagne with no corkage and a three-course menu with DJ music, is on the cards, said Food and Beverage Manager, Gerard Guize. General Manager, The Ocean Colombo, Mac Phillips said that special rates will be offered to foreign and Sri Lankan couples to make it a most memorable day.
