The classical duo, Kishani Jayasinghe (Soprano) and Soundarie David Rodrigo (Piano), will hold a series of Classical Music Recitals, titled 'Royally Classical'. Recital 1 - Classically French - focusing purely on French classical music on Thursday February 18, 2016, from 7.30 p.m to 8.30 p.m, at the Russian Cultural Centre, Colombo 7.

The duo plans to focus on the type of music that fostered pure classical music. Given the multitude of choices, styles and languages available, they hope to create a unique Classical Recital Series, which will take to the boards for the first time in Sri Lanka.

The repertoire will feature a combination of French classical songs and operatic Arias which will all have their own air of beauty and classic French elegance. Famous works by composers such a Hahn, Charpentier, Gounod, Duparc and Bizet will make an appearance.

Kishani and Soundarie will introduce the pieces where necessary and whilst the music will be sung within a more traditional framework, they hope the performance itself will be more relaxed and informal.
