The Medical Report released by the Ratnapura JMO, last week revealed
the youthful party-goer Sumith Prasanna Jayawardena of Embilipitiya,
may have died due to cut injuries and resultant shock leave the
question whether the cause of the injury was due to the police
assault or an accidental fall unanswered.
When the body of Wasim Thajudeen, the popular
ruggerite who died mysteriously in May 2012 was exhumed a week
before the last general election in August 2015, the public held
divergent views about how the investigations were being conducted.
