Lankaputhra Development Bank presents schols
Lankaputhra Development Bank (LDB) celebrated its 10th anniversary by
carrying out a host of social service programs recently.

In Deniyaya, the bank presented school supplies and scholarships
worth Rs.10,000 to 100 children who had passed the Grade 5 scholarship
examination. The bank also opened Lakmuthu Children's Savings Accounts
for 100 schoolchildren from low-income families in the area.
The children were selected by the principals of the schools. The
ceremony was held at the Morawak Korale Tea Producers Cooperative
Society Hall in Kotapola.
The scholarships were presented by the Chief Guest, Minister of Law
and Order and Southern Development Sagala Ratnayake. LDB chairman
Lasantha Goonewardena, General Manager and CEO Lasantha Amarasekara and
senior management officials of LDB also participated.
Minister Ratnayake said, "I am thankful to the Lankaputhra
Development Bank for choosing Deniyaya for such a program." Carrying out
such social service programs is the responsibility of the State and
private sector organisations and the LDB is in the forefront of such
efforts.
