New fashion store opens in Colombo
'be beautiful boutique' is Colombo's latest fashion store to open its
doors to new trends and styles.
It is owned and managed by Bhanuki Pathirana, who first launched the
store while studying Human Resource Management in London. What started
off as a simple stall at the Richmond Market every Sunday soon became
rented spaces in boutiques and pop up shops.
Having done this for over a year, she moved back to Sri Lanka and
introduced her collection at various exhibitions and trade fairs. Later
she supplied her brand to other retail outlets. However, realising the
demand for quality and stylish clothing, Bhanuki opened her own store.
"My parents have been in this industry for over 30 years, and all my
sewing is done at my sister's factory. This venture is fully supported
by my family. My husband Navin is my biggest supporter and helps me in
all aspects of the business," she said.
Each item is sourced and handpicked from the UK, India, Singapore and
Thailand.
The labels for Bhanuki's signature collection are stitched locally at
her sister's factory.
The store in general has a boutique feel to it with ample spaces and
full length mirrors for customers to try on their favourite picks.
"Sri Lanka is constantly evolving when it comes to fashion and I want
to introduce some of the better trends to local consumers such as the
organic children's clothing range. The fact that we stock only a few
pieces of each item also helps customers to remain unique in their
personal style," said Bhanuki.
The store also complements any fashionista's wardrobe with a range of
fashionable scarves, belts and other accessories, and fashion jewellery
from the UK and Europe. |
