Event Productions celebrates 25th anniversary

Event Productions (Pvt) Ltd (EPPL) celebrated its 25th anniversary in Colombo recently.

EPPL founder and Managing Director Roshan Wijeyaratne said his company was set up 25 years ago and is the oldest event production company in the country.

"We have already conducted over 4,500 events for local and overseas customers," he said adding that he formed the company at a time when there were no event production companies in the country, with the sole objective of providing an opportunity for local entertainers.

"I have 35 years experience in managing and producing events from the time I was a DJ under the legendary Gabo Pieris who later formed a musical group," Wijeyaratne said.

He said his team have also entertained the crowds overseas including South Africa and India. "We organise events from fashion shows to product launches, media conferences to gala dinners, concerts, dinner dances and workshops," Wijeyaratne said.

He said his company can present total event solutions whether for an intimate number of 30 or a mammoth 10,000. EPPL had also handled a conference in Nepal and coordinated two Indian films shot in location in Sri Lanka for Bonny Kapoor.Wijeyratne, a lecturer for the Diploma in Event Management and has conducted event management workshops for SLIM , SLT and Hemas. "We own all our equipment to give 100 percent reliability on quality and have no dependence on external suppliers. From stage sets, lights, sound, AV and LED screens, concepts, design, consultation and coordination of venue arrangements and even managing multiple venues at same time by our trained team of 30," he said.
