CM Court lawyers get new president

Attorney-at-Law Pradeep Gamage has been elected President of the
Colombo Chief Magistrate's Court Lawyers' Association at its AGM on
February 25. He received 175 votes beating his nearest rival, who
received 50 votes, by a majority of 125 votes. This is the largest
majority of votes recorded by a President in the Association's history.
A past pupil of Galahitiyawa MMV, Gamage passed out as a lawyer from the
Sri Lanka Law College in 2001.
Attorney Sumith Kelaart was elected Secretary, with a majority of 55
votes.
He received 139 votes against the other contestant, who received 84
votes. Kelaart is a past pupil of Thurstan College, Colombo.
He passed out from the Colombo Law Faculty and took oaths as an
Attorney-at-Law in 2003.
