Thomians beat Anthonians 41-11

S Thomas' College, Mount Lavinia, after being contained to a 22-11 lead at half time, went on the offensive to add another 19 points in the second half to beat St.Anthony's College Katugasthota by 41 points (four goals, two tries, one penalty) to 11 (one try, two penalties) in their Singer A Division Segment 'A' match played at the S Thomas' Grounds, Mount Lavinia yesterday.

Both teams looked formidalbe at the start. but S.Thomas' led 15-11 just before the lemons, the hosts scored a try which was converted by Ashwanth Herath to end the first half on a high note. The first three tries for the Mount Lavinia School, were scored by lock forward Harith Senanayake, winger Naveen Henakankanamge and centre Sarith Nanayakkara.

Centre Ashwanth Herath, who had a grand game, made all three conversions. St Anthony's full back Kumara Maduwantha put over two penalties to collect the first six points before winger Pramuditha Wickramaratne scoring the solitary try of the match. For the visitors Anthonians scored 11 points at half time.

Thomians dominated the second half scoring another 19 points through De LiNaveen Henakankanamge and Ashwanth Herath touching down.
